The Culling of Zebras

It is imperative to Keleen Leathers that our clients understand that we do not sell anything that is destroyed specifically for its skin.

Our main focus is to find ways to reuse and recycle nature’s gifts that would otherwise be wasted.

All of our Zebra hides are the common Burchells Zebra which IS NOT ENDAGERED. Unlike the Hartmanns and other Mountain Zebra, these are quite prolific in the woodlands and open plains of Africa and are not endangered species. The Zebra hides we sell are from Southern African Government sponsored culls, with the purpose of maintaining the herds and preventing over population, which is similar to the control of deer population in North America.

We work with agents who work with the African government and highly reputable conservationists committed to protect wildlife and the Plains that support them. These Zebras are imported legally with a devotion to the legal culling and imporation of these hides. Each hide is inspected by US Customs and the US Department of Fish and Wildlife.
